Sales are up, and so is supply. That combination gives both buyers and sellers something real to work with right now in the Asheboro area.

The National Association of Realtors reported U.S. existing-home sales fell 2.0% in August 2026. The Asheboro area went the other way. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 176 condos and townhomes sold across ZIP codes 27263, 27205 and 27203 in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 12.1% from the same three months of 2025.

At the same time, the Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 192 condos and townhomes for sale across those three ZIP codes. That is up 15.7% from a year before. More choices for buyers, but demand kept pace.

What the wider picture adds

Mortgage rates are part of what every buyer is working around right now. CNBC reported the average 30-year fixed rate rose to 7.49% as of October 7, 2026. That is up from 7.30% the week before, also from CNBC. Higher rates slow purchase applications. CNBC also reported that mortgage applications to buy a home were 15% lower than the same week one year ago.

Nationally, the Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. house prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. The Asheboro area's ZIP 27263 outpaced that, at 10.4% price growth, the Real Estate Data Aggregator shows.
