Walkertown homes are taking longer to sell as more listings build

The biggest shift in Walkertown right now is time. Homes are sitting longer, and there is more to choose from. That changes what sellers need to plan for, and it gives buyers a little more room.

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted a median of 49 days on market in ZIP 27051 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is 17 days longer than the same period in 2025. Not every home is slow, but the middle of the market is taking more time than it used to.

The Real Estate Data Aggregator found 29 homes for sale in Walkertown during that period. Supply rose to 4 months, up 1.2 months from a year before. Realtor.com also reported that active listings nationally topped 1.16 million homes in September 2026. Walkertown is part of a wider pattern.

If you own a home here, buyers have more to compare before they choose yours. If you are buying, you may have a bit more time and selection than last year.

Prices and sales both eased

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 22 homes sold in ZIP 27051 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 18.5% from the same months of 2025. Fewer sales, with more homes available, means buyers are being selective.

The median sale price in Walkertown came in at $285,000 for that same period. That is down 16.2% from a year before, according to the Real Estate Data Aggregator. Prices dipped. That is worth knowing before you set a number.

Homes that did sell closed at 97.9% of list price on average, the Real Estate Data Aggregator found. That is down just 0.3 points from a year ago. Sellers are getting close to their asking price, but the days of easy overbids are quieter now.

Only 9.1% of Walkertown homes sold above list price in that period, down 20.5 points from the same months of 2025, per the Real Estate Data Aggregator. A year ago, bidding wars were far more common here.

Pending sales offer a bright spot

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 24 pending sales in ZIP 27051 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 4.3% from the same period in 2025. Buyers are still moving, just more carefully.

Still, only 20.8% of homes went under contract within two weeks of listing. That is down 31.4 points from a year before, per the Real Estate Data Aggregator. Quick sales are the exception now, not the rule.

Rates are adding pressure nationwide

Mortgage rates climbed above 7% for the first time since January 2025, according to Realtor.com. The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that U.S. house prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. National prices are still up, but the pace is slow.

Realtor.com also reported that 20.8% of listings nationally took a price cut in September 2026, the highest share since October 2022. Walkertown sellers are not alone in feeling that pressure.

Fannie Mae forecast an average 30-year fixed rate of 7.4% for the fourth quarter of 2026, according to CNBC. That is the same level Redfin reported as a 3-year high on October 8, 2026. Higher rates slow buyers down.

In short
  1. In the three months ending August 31, 2026, Walkertown had 29 homes for sale, a median of 49 days on market, and a median sale price of $285,000. Supply is up.
  2. Sales are down.
  3. Homes are taking longer.
  4. That is the honest picture right now.

One more thing worth knowing: these numbers cover all of ZIP 27051. One street in Walkertown can read very differently from the ZIP as a whole. A home on a quiet cul-de-sac may move faster or slower than the median.
