Walkertown prices moved down while national prices kept rising

The biggest thing to know right now: Walkertown is moving differently than the rest of the country. That means the price you pick, as a seller or a buyer, matters more than usual.

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 24 homes sold in ZIP 27051 in the three months ending July 31, 2026. That median sale price was $292,450, down 14% from the same three months in 2025. Meanwhile, the Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. home prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. Walkertown went the other way.

That gap is the story. Nationally, prices kept climbing. In Walkertown, they dipped. So what does that mean for you? A seller who prices to the national mood may sit longer than expected. A buyer who waits for a national dip may miss what is already happening here.

Homes are still selling close to asking

Here is the honest part: even with prices down, Walkertown homes are not selling at deep discounts. The Real Estate Data Aggregator shows the average sale price was 99.4% of list price in the three months ending July 31, 2026. That is up 0.3 points from a year before. So what does that tell you? Price it right and buyers will meet you there.

The Real Estate Data Aggregator also shows 36 days was the median time on market in ZIP 27051. That number has not changed from a year ago. Not every home sold fast, but the pace held steady.

Nearly 3 in 10 homes sold above asking

Even in a market where prices fell, the Real Estate Data Aggregator found that 29.2% of Walkertown homes sold above list price in the three months ending July 31, 2026. That share rose 7.8 points from a year before. So some sellers are still getting more than they asked. Pricing carefully is what separates those sellers from the ones who wait.

Fewer homes came to market

The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 28 new listings in ZIP 27051 in the three months ending July 31, 2026. That is down 15.2% from the same period in 2025. There were also only 25 homes for sale, down 7.4% from a year before. Less supply can help sellers, but it also means buyers have fewer choices.

Rates are adding pressure nationally

It is not just Walkertown feeling the squeeze. CNBC reported the average contract rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage with a conforming loan balance hit 7.30% as of September 30, 2026. Realtor.com reported that mortgage rates topped 7% for the first time since January 2025. Higher rates slow buyers down everywhere, and Walkertown is no exception.

Realtor.com also reported that 20.8% of listings nationally had their price reduced in September 2026, the highest share since October 2022. That is a national number, not a Walkertown one. But it tells you buyers have options in many places, and they know it.

Quick contracts slowed down

One more honest admission. The Real Estate Data Aggregator shows that 20.8% of Walkertown homes went under contract within two weeks of listing in the three months ending July 31, 2026. That is down 27.4 points from a year before. Fewer homes are snapping up fast. Buyers are taking more time to decide, and sellers should plan for that.
